LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Northern Illinois track & field team broke yet another school record Friday at the Kansas Relays, while also qualifying four athletes for finals in their respective events.
NIU will have three athletes - Chanel Kellyman, Janay Mitchell and Rasheta Butler - in the 200 meters final, while Roneisha Frye will represent Northern in the 100 hurdles final.
“We had great efforts in some events and lacked concentration in others,” said Huskie head coach Connie Teaberry. “Our field event ladies competed well, with Sidra (Sherrill) throwing a personal best that will move her up in the MAC standings. Roneisha’s (Frye) hurdle race had a strong finish to make it into the finals tomorrow and all three ladies in the 200 braved the cold temps this morning to clinch final spots.”
